Incoming Transmission, Stardate 11708.24 From: Hirogen Border Control RE: Request to Enter Hirogen Territory
Captain Sumner,
Your request to traverse Hirogen territory is hereby approved. Do not exceed warp 5 except in extreme emergency. Do not travel beyond Hiroga. Do not approach Hirogen Communications Network hubs. Note there have been several recent Borg incursions of Hirogen territory; the Hirogen accept no responsibility for your safety. The Hirogen reserve the right for any stop and search procedures during your time in Hirogen space. This clearance lasts for a maximum of 30 days.
That is all.

Mission Brief SD 11708.24
TO: Senior Staff, USS Chiron NCC-77303 FROM: Captain Sara Sumner, CO USS Chiron NCC-77303
All: We received the following response form the Hirogen Border Patrol regarding out request to travel through their territory:
"Your request to traverse Hirogen territory is hereby approved. Do not exceed warp 5 except in extreme emergency. Do not travel beyond Hiroga. Do not approach Hirogan Communications Network hubs. Note there have been several recent Borg incursions of Hirogen territory; the Hirogen accept no responsibility for your safety. The Hirogen reserve the right for any stop and search procedures during your time in Hirogen space. This clearance lasts for a maximum of 30 days."
aNAV: Set a course for The Void, Warp 5. Once we're within 40 lightyears of the Hirogen border, prepare the QSD.
XO: It may be some time before we're able to re-enter the underspace tunnels. If we're not able to do so by the time we've cleared Hirogen space, then our goal is to access one of the nodes in to Hirogen Communications Network that lie beyond its border and attempt to send a coded communication to the Alpha Quadrant. Informing Starfleet of the Cardassian-Vaadwuar alliance is our primary objective. In the meantime, keep working with Dr. Onishi.
CSO: Mr. Hamlet, prepare to hack an alien comms network.
OPS: Monitor Hirogen comms as best you can. If there are any reports of Borg activity, let me know.
aTAC: Maintain Borg protocol for the time being. We're at Yellow Alert until further notice.
MED: Please report to the bridge, Dr. Evans.
That is all.

SD 11708.31
TO: Senior Staff, USS Chiron NCC-77303 FROM: Captain Sara Sumner, CO USS Chiron NCC-77303
All: Let's blow this popsicle stand.
XO: Organize Tactical and Engineering teams. I want every inch of the ship searched, just in case the Hirogen decided their inspection would be a good cover for planting some kind of locator.
aNAV: Resume course, Mr. Hobart.
OPS: Please hail the Hirogen vessel.
CSO: I'd like an update on Dr. Onishi's work, please.
MED: Thanks for the delivery. When you have some time, put together a list of any long-term patient needs we might have if we're not able to get resupplied in the near-future. If we need to start rationing certain supplies, it's best we know sooner rather than later.
That is all.

SD 11709.21
TO: Senior Staff, USS Chiron NCC-77303 FROM: Captain Sara Sumner, CO USS Chiron NCC-77303
All: We have received a request for asylum from a group of Hirogen political dissidents. I had scheduled a staff meeting for tomorrow at 1300 hours to discuss the matter.
XO: Please see that our guests have accommodations for the time being.
CTO: I want regular reports on the border skirmish with the Borg. If it looks like the Hirogen are losing, let me know. Please note: going forward, I want shields raised whenever we're approached for an inspection until I've had a chance to communicate with the Alpha in charge.
CSO: I'm hoping we've gotten some passive scans of the Hirogen ships we've encountered. If so, please bring me an analysis of their tactical and navigational capabilities.
OPS: Please inform any further inspection teams that I will need to speak to them before they come on board.
MED: If our guests have any injuries or illnesses, please see to them.
NAV: Maintain course and heading for the time being.
That is all.

SD 11710.19
TO: Senior Staff, USS Chiron NCC-77303 FROM: Lieutenant Commander Raqiin sh'Hruvek, XO USS Chiron NCC-77303
All: Captain Sumner has been temporarily relieved of command. This doesn't change the fact that we're going to make an attempt to go home.
NAV: Maintain course and speed for the time being so we don't attract any undue attention. Once things start happening, they'll likely happen very quickly. Hope your reflexes are up to par.
OPS: Inform our guests to meet me in the ready room. We may have to communicate with the Hirogen rebel fleet soon after, standby.
CSO: Bring the doctor and her science team to the bridge once she's as sure as she can be that her tunneling technique is going to work and be prepared to activate it on my mark. She's going to call the shots once we're in in case of on the fly adjustments, but keep working with her and keep me posted.
CTO: Continue monitoring the sensors. I don't want any surprise inspections at this crucial junction. If you or anyone else notices any changes to the anti-Borg signal, I want to know about it.
MED: Keep up the good work. If this works, your patient should make a swift recovery. Let me know if his condition worsens.
CO: Hug the little one for me.
That is all.
