A new Captain, though, a face they all recognise. The crew must embark on their next adventure into space.
<Incoming Communication> <Origin - Starfleet Command> <Destination - USS Zorya Ready Room> <Security Level: Captain's Eyes Only>
Greetings Captain Rousseau,
Welcome to your first shift in the hot seat, the Zorya has gone through a full maintenance overhaul, try not to get her into too many scrapes, we have to repaint your hull. Your ship has been fully re-stocked, and you should be ready to take on a good little shakedown cruise.
Your ordered to do a standard Starfleet shakedown and trial run to test out your ships systems and make sure everything is ship shape. Once you have done a swing around Jupiter and come back report to outside Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco at the gardens outside.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
Commander Cordan, Assistant to Vice Admiral Raif, Fleet Coordination

Mission Orders 12303.27 Arc 17, #1 - A First Bolide Situation
All: We’ve been ordered to do a simple shakedown cruise from Earth to Jupiter and back, to test the Zorya’s systems after our latest repairs. I know it sounds like a training run which we can all do in our sleep, but we all know very well that the simple runs don’t always necessarily go according to plan. So be aware, and be alert. Assume things will go well, but as always, be prepared for anything.
Good luck, and let's get back out there.
CO Rousseau ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ XO: Jo, please see me in my ready room when we have a spare minute.
CTO Douglas: Please have your team run through security drills while we’re en route, and run a test of the weapons systems when we get to the asteroid belt. Also, I’d like you to scan for Gorn threats in the vicinity. I’m not convinced they’re out of the picture just yet.
CEO Emeric/CPO Travis: Run a full diagnostic of ship systems, and report any abnormalities.
aOPS: Coordinate with Engineering to run a full diagnostic on all systems. In addition, please make sure all ship’s supplies are distributed to where they need to go.
NAV Reyes: Plot a course for Jupiter at full impulse. We're going to swing around Jupiter's orbit, take a pause at the asteroid belt to do a test of our weapons systems, then head back to Space Dock.
aCMO: Run the medical staff through the normal emergency training drills and casualty prep. Also make sure medical supplies are restocked, and take the opportunity to schedule physicals for the crew.

Mission Orders 12304.03 Arc 17, #2 - A First Bolide Situation
All: We're being summoned to the South Gardens at Starfleet Command. Once we beam down, please assemble for whatever the Admiral has planned. Even I don't know that, so it's going to be a surprise.
CO Rousseau p.s. Enjoy the gardens, we don't get to relax nearly often enough these days.

Mission Orders 12304.24
All: We are assisting the First Federation Vessel, 'Bootlegger's Paradise', with whatever engineering repairs are needed to get them back up and running again. Meanwhile, I plan to have a second chat with their Captain, to clarify a few things I still have questions about.
Bon courage/good luck,
CO Rousseau ~~~~~~~~~~~
XO Cmdr Feyna: Report in on the away team’s progress as soon as you can. I’ll keep you apprised of what I find out from the FF Captain, and if I hear any updates from the Admiral.
CTO LtCmdr Douglas: Have security teams on standby, including one to support the away team. Failing that, we'll call in the marines if our own security isn't enough. This situation feels off… it might be a good idea to scan for other ships in the vicinity, cloaked or otherwise.
aOPS: Contact the Admiral's ship and let them know that we’ve arrived and are assisting the FF vessel. I’d also like an update on their situation at Starbase 440. Commander Feyna's suspicions about a virus are worth looking into – I know you can't run scans on the FF ship from the outside due to their shielding, but we can scan the incoming information from the FF ship for viruses or any other unwanted signals.
CEO Lt Emeric/CPO Travison: Assist the FF engineers with whatever repairs are needed to get them up and running again. Also, run some virus scans and any other scans you can think of to find the origin of the systems failures over there.
NAV LtJG Reyes: Hold position here until further notice. Also, input coordinates for starbase 440 as a secondary destination once we’ve completed repairs here. I don't know yet if we'll need to go there, but we can amend as necessary once we get further information from the Admiral. Always good to have an exit planned in case we need one.
aCMO: Keep a few beds open in sickbay in case of problems on the FF ship. Also, please brush up on Linnik physiology.

<<Incoming message>> from: Captain Isabelle Rousseau
--- Mission Orders 12305.08 --- All: Apparently there's been a new development in this situation that may link the First Fed ship and Starbase 440 - When I'm done speaking with Captain Malok, we have some more investigating to do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *XO Cmdr Feyna*: Please give me an update on the team’s progress as soon as you can. I'll let you know what I learn from SB 440. Also, while you're over there, and if you're able to, please make some observations about the type of cargo they're carrying. Ask directly if they seem open to it, but don't press them, they may interpret that as suspicion. I'm very curious about what 'Bootlegger's paradise' actually means.
CTO LtCmdr Douglas: Security should remain on standby. Until I know the cause of that death on the Starbase, and whether the FF ship had anything to do with it, we should continue to be cautious.
*CEO Lt Emeric/CPO Travison*: Keep up with learning about and repairing the FF ship’s systems, and let me know if you find anything over there that could be common to both incidents.
aOPS: Please contact Starbase 440 again. I want more details about the First Fed vessel’s trading activities there, and I have questions about the timing of the starbase’s power issues. And I want more information about the recently deceased individual.
NAV LtJG Reyes: Hold for further orders, and keep SB 440's coordinates plugged in, as before.
*aCMO Straynj*: Please keep a medical team on standby in case things go south.
Thank you everyone, and keep up the good work. CO Rousseau <<End Message>>
