Captain Sumner,
The recent announcement from the Cardassians regarding the Bok’Nor pact has understandably raised some concerns about their intentions. The Chiron will continue to patrol the border. Officially, your presence is meant to deter pirating. We've continued to see a rise in reported instances of attacks upon freighters and trade vessels in the area, despite previous efforts. The Bok'Nor Pact has all but accused us of being weak and ineffective, so the importance of stabilizing the region now cannot be understated.
All that said, I trust that you will keep an ear to the ground and report back any unusual activities you may encounter in regards to this new alliance. Stay vigilant.
Vice Admiral Ksar Alpha Outreach Command

“Evasive maneuvers!”
Lon gripped the arms of his chair as the ship veered sharply. Two shots zipped past them, “That was too close!!”
“I know, I know! They’re coming around too fast!” Takira shouted back, frustration evident in her voice as her fingers flew across the controls.
A shot struck home and the ship rocked in response, and she struggled to pull their ship away again. “I can’t shake them, they’re too fast.”
Cursing under his breath, Lon called to Gruln, “Send a message out, now!” He watched as the other man nodded. The ship shuddered as their pursuers zipped around them in an arc, firing a volley on them. Takira’s helm console exploded in a blinding shower of sparks, throwing her to the floor in a heap.
“Shields are about to go down!” Gruln yelled, “Lon, they’re coming around again.”
The captain’s face went white under the harsh red glare of the emergency lighting and he leapt to a nearby auxiliary console, “Transfer navigation control to me…” Gruln tapped at his own console, diverting navigation from Takira’s now smoking station. Lon desperately tried to pull the ship away in time, but they were no match and one more shot hit home. Alarms and klaxons sounded across the ship as power flickered, “Report!” he barked at Gruln who shook his head dismally. “We’re dead in the water.”
They both turned to the viewscreen as the attacking ship circled like a vulture coming back to scavenge the bones.

Mission Briefing SD 11903.07
All: For the time being, we're to continue providing support to this sector. Cardassia may try to further provoke an aggressive response, but it's imperative that we maintain composure.
XO: I don't have details on when this relief fleet to Free Haven is due, but I imagine a fair number of those ships will pass through Kobliad. Please inform Kobliad station that any ships headed to Free Haven should avoid The Badlands until further notice.
CEO/CSO: Keep working on this new Tholian/Breen tech hybridization. Coming up with some kind of countermeasure would be significant, to say the least.
SCI: While Hamlet works on the energy drain, I'd like you to take a look at what scans we got of the Cardassians' cloak and see if you can't come up with some way to penetrate it. I'd prefer not to be surprised like that again.
NAV: Keep to Carraya's patrol path for now, but be prepared to deviate. I strongly doubt we've seen the last of the Tholians messing with civilian craft.
OPS: I know there's a lot of chatter out there right now, but try to keep an ear on Civilian channels, particularly any irregular cargo runs near The Badlands.
I'm sure further orders will be forthcoming, so this is all subject to change. For the time being, we're still here to support our allies and help secure the sector.
That is all.

Mission Briefing SD 11903.14
All: We're en route to Tohvun III to drop off our guests. Once they and their ship are settled, we'll be heading back out on patrol.
XO: Once everyone's offloaded, pleases see me in my Ready Room for a confab.
CEO: Tony, please have as complete a report as possible for the damage to the Boslic ship. Let's make further repairs easier by including some next steps, time permitting.
CSO/SCI: Let's switch gears for a moment. I'd like the two of you to see if we can get any clear readings of underspace tunnels in the area. Starfleet might already have a map, but if they don't, let's make one. If you have any thoughts on how we might disrupt them, that'd be pretty neat.
OPS: If there's nothing pressing, I'd like you to try and monitor Cardassian Comms. I wanna know what they're saying about these Breen raids, at least publicly.
NAV: See what you can dig up on flight paths in this sector over the last 24 hours, particularly for Breen and Cardassian vessels.
I want to remind everyone that there is a difference between a people and their government. We all have very strong, very recent reasons to distrust the Cardassian military, and I clearly can't fault anyone for that - I do not trust these Cardassian/Breen skirmishes, obviously - but I implore you to remember that the Cardassian military is a very small percentage of the Cardassian people. None of us are served by letting our mistrust turn to racial bias.
That is all.

Mission Briefing SD 11903.28
All: There's been some sort of bombing on the surface of Tohvun III. Right now, our job is to render what assistance we can to the governor's office and the various emergency services without getting in the way.
XO: Let Tohvun's security service know we're standing by to offer and logistical help they require. Transporters, comms, equipment - anything they need and don't already have.
CSO/SCI: Get me what information you can about the explosion from our passive scans. The type of device used, the yield, and whatever else we can figure out.
OPS: I want a record of any transmissions from ship to surface and vice-versa. Yes, this includes the Cardassian vessel.
CEO: I don't know that they'll need any help, Tony, but have some teams standing by in case they need us on the surface. Generators, SIFs, whatever you might need for ground-level damage control.
NAV: A special assignment for you, Migonna. I want you to track down as many reports about Breen raids in this region as you can, starting from 48 hours prior to the Bok'Nor Pact announcement. Tohvun has asked us to investigate these raids, so that's what we're going to do.
I know we all have suspicions, but it's important that we all avoid jumping to conclusions, including me. Right now, our priority is to ensure the security of Tohvun III. After that, we'll play it by ear.
That is all.

Mission Briefing SD 11904.04All: Our priority continues to be Tohvun's security. Governor Calen has asked us to assist in the investigation, but I don't need to remind you all that the situation is delicate. CSO/CEO: The two of you are in charge of the ground team. You are to defer to Tohvun personnel at all times, and to do your best to cooperate with the Cardassian team. Do not try to cut them out of anything. I can't stress enough that we can't afford to be seen as territorial or belligerent. Compromise as much as possible. If a significant disagreement occurs, contact me immediately. XO/SCI: When you get a moment, give me an update on our underspace scans. I'd find it questionable that all these Breen raiding vessels have been able to consistently outrun or evade their Cardassian pursuers if the tunneling is extensive. I'd also like to see what we have on the Cardassians' cloaking technology. NAV: Let's expand our information requests from neighboring worlds. I want records of raids for the last month, specifically by the Breen. Contact DS9 and get their records as well, and let's start putting together a timeline.
OPS: Be careful down there, Rebecca. We'll have someone from security nearby, and we'll have a transporter lock on you at all times. If you feel at all in danger, let us know and we'll pull you out.
That is all. For now. Captain Sara Sumner

Mission Briefing SD 11904.25
All: We have a few leads in the bombing case, and more questions about the Breen, it seems.
XO: I understand you and Rebecca got something on your booze tour. Now's the time to share it.
CEO/CSO: I want you and your teams to return to the ship. Bring what evidence you've found, and we'll review the footage Tohvun has shared with us.
OPS: When you get settled, inform Tohvun we'll be pursuing one of the suspects, and have put out alerts on the other two. Hopefully we won't be gone long. Once we're underway, try to get in contact with the Derna.
NAV: Set a course to intercept the Derna, maximum warp.
SCI: Keep working on the probe idea. The Breen will become our focus at some point.
That is all.

Mission Briefing SD 11905.30All: We now have a lot of maybes, and a very high-value individual in our custody. I can't stress enough that whoever is behind all this specifically wants conflict between the Federation and the Bok'Nor Pact, and under not circumstances are we to play into that. None. At all. XO/TAC: Ms. Gaudin's safety is our highest priority right now. We know that Section 31 has had an operative on our ship in the past, and it's entirely possible they still do. She's to be kept isolated, and under guard of only those officers you explicitly trust, regardless of rank or seniority. CSO: Continue going over our data from the drive signature. Anything we can do to more-easily detect its use would be really handy. I know it's a long shot, but see what you can do. OPS: Inform Starfleet Command on an encrypted channel that we have a high-value individual that needs recovery ASAP. Let them know that Section 31 is likely actively seeking their capture or death. NAV: Keep us a good distance out of standard orbit for the time being.
We'll be at Yellow Alert until someone arrives to pick up Gaudin.
