We wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Also, there are several dates coming up that I will be unable to attend the SIM myself, here are those dates as of right now, just figured I’d give you all a heads up. June 15th I will likely not attend the sim as I will be out doing an early celebration for my Birthday with friends. July 6th I will not be in attendance as I will be out Camping for the 4th of July weekend. I will be away as of the 4th so I will not be available during that time. August 31st I will not be in attendance as I’m intending on going to do MILSIM West again and will be out in the field slinging plastic with my fellow Russians, helping to stop the NATO oppression of my country. LOL Recruitment – We need more crew so if you know someone who is into Star Trek and you think might like doing this please feel free to reach out and invite them to come watch. We are specifically looking for an Engineer, Helmsman, Science Officer, and eventually we’ll figure out who will fill the Executive Officer’s position. But yes, please feel free to advertise our group and sim amongst your friends if your comfortable doing this. Stardate: 11906.08 Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Ready Room Oliver stood in his customary spot next to the window in his office, his eyes fixed on the curvature of the planet below. It didn’t matter how it looked or what planet it was, they all looked amazing from this perspective. It was one of those things that reminded him of why he joined Starfleet. It wasn’t a strange new world, but it was an image that brought that feeling to him every time. He wanted to smile, revel in the beauty of the site he was seeing but there was something weighing on his mind. He took a deep breath and let it out before he spoke. “Computer Begin Duty Log!” The computer gave its customary beeps as it accessed the file, opened and appended it. He hesitated a moment before he spoke. “Captains Log, Stardate 11906.08 Supplemental.” He shifted his weight and leaned against the window frame. “I am duty bound to enter into the ships log that Commander Sullivan Derringer has requested an indefinite leave of absence effective immediately.” He hesitated. “I know that he’s been at the center of recent events, and he’s been a pain in everyone’s backside, but I hope that he chooses to return to the fleet. Part of me knows that its not likely but he was a good officer despite a long chain of bad decisions. But it may be for the better right now, we need to move on. Recover.” He shifted his weight again standing back up straight. “I hope he finds whatever it is he’s looking for.” Oliver got quiet for a long moment before he finally moved over to his chair at his desk lowering himself into it, his uneaten meal still sitting there taunting his stomach. “But onto the things at hand. We are still searching for the Stolen Medical Supplies; we have found some leads which we hope will take us to them but there is no guarantee that they will be recoverable. We’ve learned that a group called The Covenant. From what we’ve been able to gather they believe that their government is trying to poison them with the medications that we’ve been providing them. I had Doctor Evan’s look into this just to be certain and from what she can tell everything is kosher with the supplies were sending so were not sure where this is coming from. It might just be propaganda its hard to tell at this point.” He took a drink of water from a glass he had been nursing on his desk. “I’m hoping we will have a chance to engage the group and see if perhaps we can help. Maybe there is just a misunderstanding. I can understand after decades of dealing with this illness that it could cause some animosity and perhaps even some misconception. Until we can figure out how to reach out to this group though we won’t know. We will have to see how Lieutenant Idaris decides she wants to approach this.” “We did have a promising lead that I’m hoping will pan out, I had Ms. Wythe look into the materials we shipped and we did find that the containers that were beamed down were made from a newer materials that might stand out so we’ve narrowed down the direction the Transporter interception came from and hopefully knowing this material is out there we might strike it rich on a location. We will see what happens next as this all comes together. End log!”

Doctor Phrast – Barsan II Head of Planetary Medical OOC & Pre-Sim Information: Summer Break – June 30 – September 2nd The club will be taking its usual Summer Break, it’s a chance for everyone to recharge your creative batteries. Have a good time, there will be activities so keep an eye out on the Forums for updates. If you want to do some writing it’s not a bad time to cover some back story on your character, or work with others to establish friendships and build on what you already have. Cj can always use more materials so if you have ideas feel free to write stuff up and provide that to him. If you don’t already have me on facebook your more than welcome to look me up and brainstorm, or work on some writing projects. I’m usually always up to writing. We are still looking for more people for our ship as well as the others so please don’t hesitate to mention our activities to people word of mouth is a great advertisement. Stardate: 11906.22 Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Bridge Oliver was staring down at a Padd in his hand, it was more history. He was trying very hard lately to get caught up on events of the twenty-five years since they had been gone. So much had happened he initially had started making a list of bullet points that he wanted to specifically cover and it had not taken long for him to realize how long that list would be. His crew was busy getting ready for the coming security operations that were about to take place he was waiting for the last bit of information to come back so he could report to the Admiral. He set the padd down on the arm of his chair and flipped open the other revealing the controls and screen hidden within. He pressed the button and manually began his Captains Log recording. “Captain’s log, Stardate 11906.22 supplemental. The Tempest remains in orbit of Barsan II while we continue to gather intelligence as to the location of our missing Medical Supplies. Lieutenant Idaris has narrowed down the results and has started preparing her teams for an assault now at two locations. One we believe is where our Medical Supplies were beamed down to, the other was a surprise. We spotted what appeared to be a person of high interest from Section 31, a man by the name or alias of Harris Johns.” He shifted in his chair glancing up at the viewscreen for a moment before continuing. “This certainly was a startling revelation, if this is a Section 31 operative it means that we may have stumbled upon some kind of operation. Johns is obviously a person of interest, but our Medical Supplies are equally important. We should be ready soon for our teams to go in, hopefully this will be a smooth operation and they won’t see us coming.” “Ms. Evan’s has found some things that we had in ample supply that would be good for Doctor Copta and the team trying to combat this illness down on the surface. I authorize her to transfer the materials down to the surface as well as take some teams down to help train them on how to properly use and maintain the devices. Their shuttle left some time ago, as we opted for a more secure transport method to prevent interception. Hopefully this will help them come up with a cure. End log!” USS Tempest NCC-1852-A Intra-ship Messaging SystemSEND TO: All Departments FROM: Captain Oliver A. Savage – Commanding Officer SUBJECT: Shift Responsibilities General Orders: Maintain Standard Orbit, be ready to respond once our mission to raid the locations specified by Lieutenant Idaris are complete and executed. Executive Officer: Tactical Department: Having discovered the presence of Section 31 operating here we want to ensure that we are ready in case they decide to show up with more than just one man on the surface. Keep an eye on system traffic and be ready in case a ship shows up in support once the raid begins. Its possible one of the ships in orbit is Section 31 so they may already be here. Security Department: Continue Preparations for the coming Raid. Ensure we have good coverage of our medical teams down on the surface helping to train the medical teams how to use the equipment Ms. Evan’s has given to them. Operations Department: Flight Operations: Maintain Standard Orbit. Engineering Department: Medical Department: Lets get those supplies offloaded and the people trained as efficiently as possible. Doctor Phrast – Barsan II Head of Planetary Medical Admiral King OOC & Pre-Sim Information: Back to Action Ya’ll! Hope you enjoyed your break and had a good rest. I’m excited to get moving again. We should have our new Helmsman/Flight Officer starting soonish if not in our first sim. I will be looking into further recruiting in the days to come to try and see if we can at least fill our engineer spot. Stardate: 11906.29 Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Bridge Oliver stood silhouetted by the window looking out of his Office, a light instrumental melody was playing in the background as he watched the world turn below. He enjoyed moments like this, reminding him of one of the many reasons he was out here. It was a simplistic view, space with the curvature of the planet dominating one side. The world turned below without a care. It was calming and given recent circumstances he needed times like this to bring himself back into center. “Computer, begin Captains log!” he said, and waited while the computer gave its usually series of beeps and bleeps accessing the file and beginning he recording file. “Captains Log, Stardate 11906.29 supplemental. The USS Tempest has remained in orbit over the course of the last three days, and while for the most part it has been uneventful our predicament remains. The illness is still being treated, with our medical teams training the local healers to operate the equipment we’ve provided to help them through this crisis.” He shifted uneasily. “While were not making exact headway with the virus it is progress and as the local medical teams learn I have no doubt that they will conquer this yet again. Perhaps with the new tools at their disposal they will keep it from coming back again.” Slowly he turned back to his desk to retrieve his mug, “Up here on the ship our Chief Medical Officer Ms. Evans fights to save the life a known Section 31 Operative Harris Johns. There are so many reasons to save this man, between the intelligence he knows and what he has to answer for from his dealings with the True Federation and Section 31, we could use this win right now. Its been touch and go for the last three days as she’s fought to save his life. But has managed to stabilize him. It is however doubtful that he will ever regain consciousness as the damage to his brain was significant. Admiral King has been insistent that we do everything humanly possible to keep him alive and make him well.” He shifted uneasy again, a frown appearing on his face. “Do we have that right?” he asked staring down into his mug for a long moment. He shrugged. “I’m unsure as to why, with the very high probability of him not ever regaining consciousness I’m not sure what we can really get from him. But we will do the job asked of us in this case. I’m sure the Admiral has her reasons. Lieutenant Idaris’s teams have been going over every micrometer of that place we took him from, and they are still compiling the evidence. I’m hoping she’ll be comfortable soon about providing any useful information about what they found soon. But Forensics isn’t something to be rushed.” Taking a drink from his mug as he returned to his window. “This mission continues… End log” he said as he stood staring silently out the window. USS Tempest NCC-1852-A Intra-ship Messaging SystemSEND TO: All Departments FROM: Captain Oliver A. Looks like it could be a great opportunity for some writing. I’ll probably be reprising my role as G.W. Brakenridge which is always fun. More fun in voice maybe then in text but fun none-the-less. Stardate: 11909.07 Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Quarters of Captain Oliver Savage Oliver strolled out of his bedroom, he had shed his uniform top leaving him in his burgundy shirt, suspenders and pants. He held a Padd in his hand which he stared intently his eyes reading the lines of text a slight grin on his face. After a few more moments of silence he depressed the power button and dropped onto the couch next to his uniform jacket. His quarters were quiet, and empty to him without the presence of Elianna. He had begun to become accustom to having her around. It was going to make going on missions difficult at least in that respect. While he had become used to having someone sleeping next to him, he found falling asleep more difficult without that presence now it was a strange and new feeling. “Computer Begin Captain’s Log.” He said and waited for the usual beeps to complete signaling the start of the file. “Captains Log, Stardate 11909.07, supplemental. Were on our way home. A mission that went smoothly for a change completed and on the books. We’ve even managed to come back with some intelligence and perhaps if the Admiral has her way a valuable source of intelligence still slumbering in sickbay.” He leaned back into the cushions of the couch looking up at and out the windows above him and the stars streaking past. “My crew did a standup job on this one, Lieutenant Idaris was instrumental in this case with her team executing their duties extremely well. Ms. Wythe in execution of her duties assisting all the other departments while keeping a watchful eye on traffic in the system. Seems like a monotonous job but an important one non-the-less.” He closed his eyes leaning against the cushions next to him. “Sounds like the good Admiral will be putting Ms. Wythe in for a long-awaited promotion.” “We should be home in about another day’s time, then we restock the ship, rotate any crew necessary and then on to the next adventure. No indication on what that is, but I’m sure that will come in due time. I’ve been told that I have a new Flight Officer reporting for duty here soon once we get back to the station, we’ve been out a chief of flight operations for a while now so it will be nice to continue to round out the Command Staff. Though I have not yet been given their records so I’m not sure what I should be expecting. But we’ll find out soon enough. Appreciate you all being here as always. Keep an eye out for that Event that is up coming involving the Starfleet Marines. Stardate: 11909.21 Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Deck 1, Bridge Oliver sat staring down at the console on the arm of his chair for a long moment reading through some messages sent to his internship communications account. He glances up watching the swirl of gasses taking up the viewscreen image, reds and golds intermixing. It was a beautiful site. Yet again another reminder why he was out here. “Computer Begin Captains Log!” he said, glancing briefly back down at the message he had started constructing on his other console. Then as the beeps subsided signaling the start of the file he turned his attention back to his bridge crew hard at work. “Captains Log, Stardate 11909.21. The Tempest has been dispatched to the Briar patch again, this time to assist the Vonnegut and Suiren in an effort to locate and deal with the very same smart mines which did a number on the Vonnegut last time we were here. This is surely a threat that needs to be dealt with as it will surely effect any shipping through this area.” He shifted in his chair taking a moment to take a drink from his mug. “We’ve been given a new Sensor Algorithm that were told should assist us in locating the mines, so this is a far better detection system then our previous when all we could essentially rely on was the current eddy’s the mines made as they moved quickly towards a target, though with as smart as the mines seem to be I have no doubt that if they are or were interconnected they will be far more difficult to see now. But only time will tell. I’m told that the senor upgrade should be completed within the hour and by the time we reach our next waypoint.” “I’ve been reading into the record of my new Helmsman; it leaves me with a lot of questions and to some lesser extent some concerns. So quick back to active duty after such a traumatic event of loosing a ship and crew. Looking back on what happened to us, I can’t imagine what it would have been like if we had lost people in that event. Go back even further to Lyshan…” He paused, a pained and uncomfortable look gracing his face for but a moment. “We’ll have to keep a close eye on our young officer. Thus far he has performed very well in his new position. End log!” USS Tempest NCC-1852-A Intra-ship Messaging SystemSEND TO: All Departments FROM: Captain Oliver A. Stardate: 11909.28
Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Ready Room
Oliver sat leaning back in his chair, a plate and half sandwich in one hand, the other half of the sandwich in his other, his eyes scanning across the information that had been passed to them by the Vonnegut. He had this feeling of trepidation that had sat with him after his conversation with Captain Harris, but now it was worse which was not making it easy to eat his lunch. The preparations were underway, but no one fully know what they were prepping for. He shifted uneasy in his chair before he finally put the sandwich down and cleared his throat. “Computer begin duty log!” he said and then waited for the computer to signal it was recording.
Captains Log, Stardate 11909.28, Supplemental. We’ve finished our installation of the new sensor algorithms and have received our orders from Captain Harris and are steadily making ready for our task here in this mission. I can’t say that I don’t have some feelings of distress when dealing with these mines, they are extremely dangerous. Mines have always been a fear in naval terms, back in earths history they were used as a deadly means of taking down enemy forces, in some cases without even being able to see them. One moment and your clipping along, and boom, the next your ships at the bottom of the sea. It’s honestly no different in space, except your just a cloud of expanding gasses, and debris.” He stopped a moment to take a drink from his glass of water, letting the silence hang for a moment before continuing.
“Mines are a scary sort, and then you mix an artificial intelligence into the mix, and they become something worse.” His shifted again hitting a button on his desktop computer. “But now I have to decide who I can discuss this secondary mission with and to whom I cannot. One of those points of tension between me and my previous first officer that has me pausing. Before all that I would have known better but now I’m not sure. I know at least one person I need to talk too but probably should at least include Wythe in that conversation, Ms. Idaris is an obvious decision as she’ll likely have to help us figure out this thing.”
He paused a moment, “Computer send a message to Commander Idaris, and Lieutenant Wythe letting them know I’d like to meet with them at the start of their next duty shift’s as I have an important assignment for them both.” He listened as the computer acknowledged his request.
“This business with capturing and analyzing a mine without disarming it is not something I want to do, but I understand the importance and we’ll get the job done as it could potentially save countless lives in the future. Not to mention give us an insight into this faction that Captain Harris has mentioned may be involved in their deployment. Either way it should be an exciting couple of days.” He said, there was thick sarcasm in his voice.
“Computer End Log and set to its highest encryption standard. This log is not to be transmitted over subspace until it has been released by me in the future.” The computer again went through a series of beeps as it acknowledged the commands and saved the file away.

Stardate: 11912.07
Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Deck 1, Bridge
Oliver sat back in his chair staring into the colorful gasses on the view screen as the Tempest continued its course for the planet of Ba’ku, deep in the heart of the Briar Patch. His eyes were intent, but his mind was millions of kilometers away his thoughts reaching back to his past when they were explorers and how a sight like this would spark wonder in him. Even now it did just that, but it wasn’t the same. It didn’t feel nearly as profound.
Someone an Ensign from Sciences had cut across the bridge which snapped his attention back to reality, his eyes finding the display on his chair’s arm console. He cleared his throat and began to speak. “Computer begin Captains Duty log!” he said and waited for its customary beeps and tweets indicating that it found and opened the record, and the que came telling him the recording had begun.
“Captains Log, Stardate 11912.07 supplemental. Its been an eventful day, not exactly how I would have expected things to go. Where to begin…” he looked down at the carpeted floor of the bridge before nodding quietly. “The Tempest met up with the USS Vonnegut to assist them with a mission here in the Briar patch, our job essentially a clandestine event. We proceeded on mission as was requested, my crew going about making modifications to the sensor system installing a new algorithm to assist in getting us more clear scans of the Briar patch. To our surprise one of the people assisting on this was none other than Corky Corcoran one of our science officers who left the ship briefly for additional training.”
“Upon picking up Mr. Corcoran we continue our mission scanning the nebula in search of our prey and when we finally after playing a bit of cat and mouse were presented with a strange decision. I’m not entirely certain that Captain Harris was happy with our sudden change of direction but he at least allowed us to follow it to its end.”
“After getting some supposed important intelligence we proceeded to a set of coordinates given to us, and upon arrival found a vessel which was not specifically in distress, but was very out of place as most ships traverse specific lanes through the Briar patch even if they so choose to do so, most go around. But low and behold there was a civilian transport ship. We scanned our records and it did not appear to have any specific ties to anything or anyone True Federation related as that was a concern being so close to True Federation Space, so we did what any good Starfleet Vessel would do, we reached out and offered assistance.” He offered a brief smile.
“After a bit of a song and dance routine badly put on by the crew piloting the vessel, we were able to determine that the vessel was carrying refugees from True Federation Space, the vessel was packed to its welds with people. Well beyond what is safe by anyone’s standards, but it seems that things being what they are on the other side of the battle lines things are not as hunky dory as one would like to think.”
A bit of emotion flickered across his face as he looked for the right words to express himself further on the point, but he took a breath and let it out. “Needless to say, the people in True Federation Space are being made to do whatever they are told or they are not getting fed, or the basic necessities. It’s entirely barbaric and makes me entirely happy that we choose the right side in this conflict. If ever I was in question, this is just another nail in that coffin lid. I cannot believe anyone who ever believed in Starfleet or the Federation’s principals could back. Its Ludacris.” The anger in his voice was clear, but he was subdued enough not to really catch the attention of anyone who might be listening on the bridge. He glanced back down to the console watching as a bit of information scrolled past.
“These people have been through a lot, and it seems the Ba’ku are doing what they can to help. Were on our way to deliver these passengers to them and to investigate the matter further. I was not led to believe the Ba’ku were truly involved in this conflict and this could most certainly open them up to reprisal if they are found out. We took some time to identify the refugees to ensure we were not transiting known True Federation Operatives, and all have cleared. It was an awkward thing to have to do given the circumstances, but you can’t blame us for being cautious.”
“The good doctor has seen to their health and ensured that the have had a decent place to rest and get a food. They are being well treated. We anticipate arrival at Ba’ku soon after, then we will have to discuss this with Captain Harris to see how we should best proceed with his mission objective. End Log.”

OOC & Pre-Sim Information:
I want to apologize for my lack of Logs of late, I’ve set a goal for myself to get back on track with these and get back to doing at least weekly updates and or logs. Had a lot going on so it has not been on my mind, but I am going to fix that. So, this is long overdue.
I have updated the roster as it stands right now and want to welcome both Tom and AJ to the ship officially. Though I do not believe AJ has officially chosen a position we would be happy to see him at Tactical or in whatever capacity he decides he wants to make official.
We almost have a full regular crew!

Stardate: 12004.25 Location: Planet Arkonia, Office of Lieutenant Bredian
Oliver stared up at the ceiling in the small office, he was slumped back into a chair his eyes closed at the moment. He could hear the hustle and bustle of the people outside the office, and outside the building. It was hard to miss the cacophony of sound from the city. Rebuilding required destruction, and that would be happening for a long time even with the Federation’s help. He cringed as something collapsed not far from them, the floor trembled under his feet, it was not a small object, but he heard no sirens to accompany it, so he was not outwardly concerned. As a matter of fact, he was starting to get used to it.
“Any word from the Tempest?” a familiar voice called as a door creaked open. The sent of coffee accompanied Lieutenant Bredian as he entered.
“No, not yet. I’m sure my ExOh has things well in hand he seems the strange but capable sort.” Oliver said sitting up proper in the chair.
The Lieutenant extended a mug towards him. “It’s a local blend, not bad. Very strong though.”
Oliver took the mug rolling the ceramic vessel in between his hands, it felt good. “On a scale of Columbian Bean, to Raktajino where would you say this is?” he asked as he lifted the lid and took in the aroma. It smelled sweet, and the steam opened up his sinuses instantly.
“Four hundred double sweet’s!” he said taking a sip of his own. “Usually takes me the better part of a day to finish just the one.”
“I see, fair warning received and understood.” Oliver said taking his first sip. It did not disappoint; it was a sugar rush in a sip. His eyes instantly grew wider and he felt the caffeine hit almost instantly. “Holy Shit on a shingle…”
“Strong.” Bredian said with a slight grin.
Oliver nodded in agreeance. “Strong…”
Bredian handed Oliver a small box, “That’s nothing special, just Starfleet rations. Food Service have not been restored here yet so it’s what we got.”
Oliver nodded and began opening the box. He took a moment to read the label. “Chicken Sausage, potatoes, and peas. Just what a growing boy needs.” He withdrew the ration bar and ripped the seal. “Food is food, get it where and when you can.” He said knocking the solid block of food against the desk before taking a bite.
“How is it?” he asked opening his own.
Oliver shrugged. “I’ve had worse. It at least tastes as advertised.”
“That’s good,” he said taking a bite off his own. “This tastes like chicken.”
“As Advertised?” he asks an eyebrow arching in curiosity.
“Not even a little bit.” He said shaking his head. “But it’s still not bad.”
Oliver sat in silence eating for the next few minutes, his thoughts drifting between the Tempest and Command’s decision regarding the Bio Memetic Gel. He wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out, he was honest with Graske when he said he was not much of a politician so he was a little out of his depth but was doing what he could to make things right for the people of Arkonia. He hoped that it would be enough. Having doubts led him to contacting the president of the United Federation of Planets a decision he felt certain that he would regret down the line, but it was worth it. He gave his word he would do his best to make this happen.
“Worried about your ship or the Gel?”
“Little of Both.” Oliver said glancing down at the desktop computer that now sat between him and Bredian. “It’s hard not to be worried. With everything that has happened over the last couple of years since we appeared in this time it’s like everything is upside down. Twenty-seven or twenty-eight years ago Starfleet probably would not have batted an eye at a humanitarian mission such as this one here. Might have had reservations about the Gel still but they would likely have still done it and in short order. War changes everything, even an institution as large as Starfleet and the Federation.”
“Yeah, war does that.” Bredian said, then gestured towards the door. “I’ve got a couple of errands to run, do you need anything while I’m out?” he asked as he started for the door.
“No Thank you!” Oliver said, his attention drifting. Oliver sat in silence again listening to the sounds around him, occasionally sipping his coffee. He probably should have gotten some sleep at some point, but he did not have time for that, waiting for this decision to come back and his ship to show back up.
Oliver reached up and tapped his communication several times. “Begin Log Entry Recording.” He said activating the devices internal recorder. “Its high time I probably did an update.” He said to himself and waited to hear the activation beep.
“Captains Duty Log, Stardate 12004.25. The Tempest departed Orbit some time ago to chase down a distress call, I was not able to get the details of it as I was otherwise engaged. I suspect they should be back soon or at least reporting back soon. Commander Exeel seems the capable sort so we’ll see how this goes.” He shifted a little uneasy in his chair. “How much trouble can one large ship get into in the middle of a war recovery zone right?”
“I was contacted by Lieutenant Bredian who is part of the Diplomatic Corp to assist him with some negotiations here on the planet. I met with Helix Graske with the Arkonian Liberation Front about five or six hours ago now it seems, and we had a very candid exchange. I’m fortunate as the realm of politics is not one that I delve into that often, but I believe that we understood one another as were both cut from a similar cloth.” Oliver stood now, starting to pace the room.
“Two big items they asked for. One of those was a withdraw of Starfleet forces to specific locations where we can set up strategic bases and run operations from there effectively giving back the city space to the people. A point of contention is that the people of Arkonia blame Starfleet and the Federation for the True Federation. I do not blame them, and I believe they are right to be angry at us and it is our fault. I know its probably not the best to say that, but Starfleet did create Section 31 so it would be ignorant to think otherwise.” He shrugs, “Whenever someone creates and organization like this without major oversite this is what happens. You would think we would have learned, its not the first time something like this has happened. History repeats itself.”
“The second item is this Phaser Sickness. Another byproduct of the True Federation’s usual motif leaving something terrible in their wake. I’m not entirely certain what caused this but we have a cure. The problem is it requires a substance that is highly controlled and, in some ways, controversial. It is a waiting game while Starfleet’s higher ups argue the use. I feel that they will not go through with this and it is an important that they do if they want to keep the Arkonian’s in the Federation. We can’t afford to lose any members now with all that’s going on. Besides these people deserve our help. I have to believe that some part of Starfleet and the Federation that I knew before we got here still remains.” He took another sip from his coffee, falling silent for a moment.
“The Tempest went off to respond to a Distress call while I was in talks with Helix Graske I wasn’t able to get the details on this before they left but I’m sure my new ExOh has things well in hand. I should be hearing back from them soon. Until then, I guess it’s a waiting game all around. End Log!”

OOC & Pre-Sim Information: Sounds like we have an interesting mission ahead of us here. Not much to report at this time.
================= =/\= ============================ =/\= =================
Stardate: 12006.27 Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Captains Ready Room
The stars streaked past the window behind Oliver, he was laying on the couch in his quarters going over old duty logs submitted by his previous Executive officer looking for any clues as to what happened to him when they were previously on Quadra Sigma III. No matter how much he read, or re-read the logs it didn’t make sense, there wasn’t anything. He let out an exasperated sigh dropping the padd out of frustration onto his chest. “Damn!” He rubbed at his eyes for a moment blinking the sleep away. He knew it was going to be a long day, that much was obvious the moment they arrived at Starbase G-6.
“Computer, begin Captains log!” he said, picking the padd back up and thumbing the power button before dropping it to the floor, it was a lost cause. He waited for the usual beeps to indicate that the recording was in progress.
“Captains Log, Stardate 12006.27. The Tempest was called out to Starbase G-6 unexpectedly. During which we were asked to conduct a very detailed search of the ship for anything out of the ordinary and cut off all communications. We went to the extent of doing a full system diagnostic as a reason for our radio silence.” He shrugged to himself. “It was very strange, but I guess given the climate these days It really shouldn’t have been a surprise.”
“Once we arrived, we contacted the station only to be called over to a meeting by Admiral Walker, yet another surprise in what seems like a long line of them.” He pauses for a moment. “It appears that we are going back behind our former Executive Officer cleaning up something he left for us that he didn’t exactly tell the truth about. I cannot say that I blame him considering how things were going, but I guess he had his own idea about operational security. The Orion woman he found on the planet and previously told us was dead, the one that had killed all the Orion Syndicate Members on the ship in orbit, and those down on the surface. I’m unsure why, and I think Starfleet is also perplexed.”
He shakes his head closing his eyes. “Sully…”
He takes a deep breath before continuing, “We’ve been asked to investigate things in the Quadra Sigma system to see if we can find any clues as to the location of the Orion woman Dren. So were heading back to take a hard look at some of those locations on the planet, specifically the old Mine and Barracks of the old Colony.”
“We’ve been specifically ordered to stay hand off on this, so were to basically observe and report. Were not to apprehend Ms. Dren.” He shrugged to himself. “We also have Jace Durant from Starfleet Intelligence tagging along who will be also performing some investigative actions with Commander Idaris.”
“We’ve got about another five hours until we arrive, in the meantime I’ve got Ms. Wythe, and Mr. Corcoran doing some research on the system to try and find us other avenues of approach towards finding where someone would want to hide a base of operations or a hideout. Hopefully, that will help in our search and get this done quickly.”
“I’ve been scouring Commander Derringer’s Duty logs, but as much as I had hoped he might have hidden something in one of them, there isn’t anything to report. Most of his duty logs are not really duty logs, and in most cases, there are not any filed at all. It was worth a shot but I already knew I wouldn’t find anything, if he went through all that trouble to hide the fact that he made friends with this woman, he wouldn’t have put it in his log, he was very intelligent.”
“My new Exec has been doing well, he’s a bit eccentric I think much like Sully was. But in a very different way. He has been doing a fantastic job and has yet to break my ship too terribly badly. I can only hope that his call to the Zorya went better than my information gathering did. I get the feeling he had some trepidation about that meeting, but was rather beaming when he found out what we were going up against here, seemed more interested in this Alesian Order and excited that someone from the Zorya might be as excited as him by this. Or maybe it was not excitement it’s hard to say.”
“Five more hours. End log!”

USS Tempest NCC-1852-A Intra-ship Messaging System SEND TO: All Departments FROM: Captain Oliver A. Savage – Commanding Officer SUBJECT: Shift Responsibilities
General Orders: Remember this is strictly observe and report mission. We will go under the guise of performing survey’s in the system for Colonization as before. We will launch some probes, do a lot of obvious scans while taking in passive information as well. It should help cover the true nature of our mission.
Executive Officer: Follow up with me on anything you might have learned in your talks with the crew of the Zorya so were on the same page, I would ask that you work with Ms. Wythe’s team, or Ms. Idaris’s team as needed to help direct our resources were they are best suited.
Tactical Department: Please monitor for any traffic in the system. Since we know that the Syndicate has used this location before they may try and continue to do so even after we liberated the people they took. We don’t want to get caught off guard.
Security Department: Please work with Jace Durant on his Investigation. I am sure we may require both of your assistance once we narrow our search in order to confirm we’ve found our target.
Operations Department: Please work with Mr. Corcoran on locating Locations outside of the Mine and Barracks that would make a good hideaway or base of operations. Perhaps even places we wouldn’t expect.
Flight Operations: Bring us into the system, and on Ms Wythe & Mr. Corcoran’s suggestion we will for Quadra Sigma II to start out investigation.
Engineering Department: Please assist, as necessary.
Medical Department: Please assist, as necessary.
Science Department: Work with Ms. Wythe on the same task as mentioned above. I would also like you to ready some survey probes for launch so that we keep up appearances as a Colony Survey mission.

================= =/\= ============================ =/\= =================
Stardate: 12011.28 Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Bridge
The bridge was a bustling place, the ship was at slip stream speeds as the crew waited for whatever might be coming around the next celestial bend. Oliver shifted uneasy in his chair watching the viewscreen intently his usual mug in one hand. “Captain’s Log, Stardate 12011.28. After a somewhat interesting undocking from Odyssey Station the Tempest in addition to the Eos, Corvus, and Aten has Rendezvoused with a small escort unit from the house of Degra at the edge of Klingon Space to begin our mission of Observation of house Degra’s attempt to pacify and unit the Klingon Empire under one unit once again.”
“I have my reservations about this mission, we’ve essentially been tasked with openly spying on the Klingons in this crusade of theirs. Asked to watch as many are potentially killed. Granted house Degra’s leader insisted on us coming to witness this and why somewhat evades me. Other than knowing us from previous missions. It does not feel right. But we cannot go on gut instincts alone, but that does not mean we can’t be prepared.”
“I feel this mission is as much about making sure the Klingon’s do things the right way and keep things honest, as much as the Klingon’s showing us that their new toys are unstoppable. A sort of deterrent to our meddling in their affairs.”
“We were informed that the other forces that are in opposition to House Degra, mainly House Martok are expected to ambush us in transit. Makes sense, it is what I might do if I was trying to keep Starfleet and the Federation out of our business. So, we have taken some wagers on when and where. We will see if it happens or not, but I believe in being prepared.” Again, he shifted in his chair.
“Being prepared.” He muttered to himself. “We don’t have anything that can fight that many craft, but I’ve been thinking about it and reviewing the sensor data from any encounter’s with them and I have a few ideas that I think I will be passing off to my Executive officer to see if he can pull something together. We will have to see; we need something that can hit a lot of targets all at once obviously. Depending upon their composition and vulnerability I think I have something in mind. I have been reading about and touching up on my old earth war history and its weaponry which gave me the idea. We may need to defend ourselves at some point, best to be ready.”

“Alpha & Omega” Sim Date: November 14, 2021 - May 8, 2021
================= =/\= ============================ =/\= =================
Stardate: 12105.08 Location: USS Tempest NCC-1852-A, Ready Room
(This takes place just prior to us arriving back at Odyssey)
The lights were still low in the ready room, the dark circles under Oliver’s eyes were a testament to the amount of energy the crew exhibited over the course of their last mission. While his role was not as directly involved, keeping the moving parts going kept him personally busy. The chair was turned so he could see the stars slipping by outside his window as the Tempest Raced back home to Odyssey station.
“Captain’s log, Stardate 12105.08. The Tempest is on her least leg home from our mission to Klingon Space. It was an eventful and busy mission for the crew of the Tempest. We were asked amongst other things, to meet up with a Klingon Flotilla from house Degra along with the USS Eos, Corvus, and Aten to observe what could only be called yet another civil war in the Klingon’s long history of violence.” He shifted in his chair and turned back to his desk.
“I was not exactly a fan of the mission, being asked to sit back and watch the Klingon’s kill one another just to see how House Degra’s new drone technology worked, and that of course they did not commit any atrocities.” He took a moment to take a drink, clearly to get the bad taste out of his mouth.
“Atrocities indeed. After meeting up with the Degra Fleet we jumped into the Qonos system to which hostilities ensued, there were words exchanged but they clearly fell on deaf ears. I can’t help but feel as those the Klingon’s on Degra’s side sound more like fanatics than purpose filled warriors. It goes against everything I’ve ever come to know about Klingon’s but things do change, and so will I if they can prove their word.”
“During the fight it was clearly a back-and-forth struggle at first, the Klingon’s on Martok’s side employed a planetary weapon, nothing I’ve ever seen before. It was designed to do a job, and it did exactly that taking out the Degra fleet’s flagship. While that seemed to cause a clear and sudden disorganization in the Degra fleet they recovered quickly, and once the Drone’s all became one killing machine, the Martok fleet began a downward slide.”
“We opened our sickbay to the wounded for both sides, acting as a neutral location for the wounded, to which both fleets acknowledged and for the most part kept to it. I don’t think we were honestly prepared, but Doctor Evan’s and her crew did an outstanding job, not to mention all the other crew who pitched in to help in whatever capacity they could.”
“Then the unthinkable, but not unexpected thing happened, the drones targeted the planetary weapon. When it was destroyed it took an entire city with it. The fight was already dying out, so I took our fleet into orbit of Qonos and started disaster recovery and coordination. It will be some time while they continue pulling bodies out of that rubble. We did everything we could, the crews of all four ships should be commended for their efforts with what resources we had to bring in, it was a lot.”
“While it may have created a bit of tension between us, my first officer saved a contingent of Martok troops by evacuating them as medical casualties, which was not far from the truth, some of them needed medical attention, but with the attack on house Degra tensions were a little higher, and when our friend Org’eth reached out regarding this it was clear he was not happy but nevertheless allowed us to evacuate them. While I did not know the exact reason for their evacuation, I made assumptions that worked in the situation. He saved lives, and that is the best takeaway from the situation, though I’m not sure Org’eth would fully appreciate it.” He shrugged. “So we saved lives, as many as we could on both sides of the conflict. We turned something terrible into something at least halfheartedly good.”
“As for our secondary mission, we did manage to recover the remains of a drone which has become a pet project of our Operations officer Ms. Wythe. Though the details of that part of our mission remain under the highest level of security.”
“We have some crew rotations coming up once we reach Odyssey, and I’m hoping to give the crew some down time before we end up back out there again, they’ve earned it. It will take a bit of time to resupply as our medical stores are low, as well as other supplies so we will at least need to replenish. We should be arriving back home here in a few hours, end log!”
