Since the Community Input section only allows staff to create topics (for the sake of keeping it focused, primarily), I decided to make an official thread for suggestions by the community that weren't addressed in the Input section. This'll be a good place to bring up something you think could improve the game, and if it doesn't get sorted in some initial discussion, we'll go ahead and post it in the Input section. Feel free to explore a wide range of ideas! One of our goals is to not just continue what we've done before, but also find new things we can add to the game to keep it feeling fresh. So please, if you have something in mind, don't hesitate to share

If I may... I'd like to suggest an Introduction Section/Thread for the site. I think it's an important feature for any site as it allows new and established players alike to orient themselves with the heart and soul of any site - its members. It's not like anyone has to share their life's story here but a brief intro including player's favourite Star Trek characters, opinions, etc. might be worthwhile.

That's a good suggestion, Matt. I'll make such a thread

OK, here's another...
We had a board that was originally titled 'The Starfleet Arsenal'. It has since been renamed today 'The Starfleet Corps of Engineers'. I would like to recommend that this board be renamed 'Starfleet Operations' (or Starfleet Headquarters maybe). That way, it can serve as a place for subsidiary threads on a variety of different topics. I would like to see this Board become a home for a series of threads for all members here based on their respective disciplines. For example, I think we should have a Science Department where those of us who are Science Officers can post useful reference material relevant to our roles regardless of vessel assignment. This same approach would apply to the Medical Department, the Engineering Department and so on. Potentially, the original 'Starfleet Arsenal' topic would translate to a 'Community - Tactical' thread in the new board. I believe that such an approach will serve to build valuable rapport and relationships across vessels and be a positive initiative for all of us and may also potentially improve our respective 'simming' performances over the medium to longer term.
I'd also recommend that if there is agreement with my proposal, the thread names be designed in such a manner that they are consistent (e.g. Community - Science, Community - Medical, Community - Engineering, Community - Command, etc.) and if possible 'stickied' so they will be a prominent and easily accessible resource for members of each discipline.

I might also suggest setting up a page somewhere that has the names of Major Players in the ST:AB Universe and some brief information about them. This way if we need to reference them in logs, or other places each person has access to those names and what they do, where they are based etc. Essentially a list of NPCs that are commonly used and brought up in storylines. Not a critical request, but something to consider. Kind of like I do with my stuff. Typically I keep a running track of NPCs used and ones that regularly come up. If we have specific NPCs on board I list them, and their quarters on board the ship. I list them in my logs when they show up. Etc.

Matt - The purpose of the Corps of Engineers subforum is specifically to introduce new or updated designs for ships, weapons, QSDs, and other devices. Essentially, it's a companion to the State of the Federation thread in which we'll be adding new items to the STAB canon. The kind of thing you're talking about is something that would be good for the Game Discussion subforum, and there's nothing stopping you from getting started. Feel free to make a thread for Science Department reference materials. If enough people make similar threads, then we'll consider giving it its own subforum.
Dan - That's a solid suggestion. I'll get one up this weekend.

So, drinks on the bridge and having to go to the replicator. Just saw in DS9 S5e22 Children in Time, they have a crewman who brings trays of refreshments. So uh... y'know... I think we need a special tea/coffee person on all the bridges.

This is why I always made sure that Rome had a Yeoman on the Bridge ")

And it was the Defiant as well. They have that kind of luxury on that on a warship, its like a British tank. All British tanks must have tea and coffee making facilities.
