Posting my new character, though it isn't a complete profile, it's her basic character description and story.
Species: Chameloid
Name: Chall Drallach
Born: Rura Penthe, Klingon Penal Colony, appearing as a Klingon infant, she was smuggled out by a sympathetic Klingon advocate, and raised on Terra by human parents, who discovered her shapeshifting abilities when she was about 13 years of age
Age: 35
Daily Appearance: Terran
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 135lbs
Hair Color: Dark brown to black
Hair Style: Curly, voluminous in all directions and falls above her shoulders
Eye Color: Yellow to green irises
Rank: Cadet
Status: Tactical
Physical Description:
Chall is able to shapeshift into any humanoid form, but maintains the same basic day-to-day physical appearance stated above around new acquaintances. She has a medium complexion, with a wild, unruly swath of dark, curly hair that falls just above her shoulders. She is a strong fighter, and keeps fit by practicing mok'bara. She is skilled with both a bat'leth and a mek'leth. Regardless of what she shapeshifts into, her eyes remain the same color, unless she wears special protheses designed to conceal her eye color.
Family demographics and history:
Adoptive father: Tomás de Vargas
Adoptive mother: Clémence Amélie de Vargas
Chall was smuggled off of Rura Penthe by a Klingon advocate due to the fact that her appearance as a Klingon hybrid would have proven inappropriate, dishonorable behavior on the part of a Klingon guard. She was delivered to a Terran couple unable to have children of their own, who raised her in Andorra. Her father was a tailor and her mother was an artist. As a child, she was rambunctious and unruly, as one expects of Klingon children.
They had a happy home, until her true nature was discovered when she was around 13 years old. She had hidden her shape shifting abilities from her adoptive parents, but one day her mother walked in on her playing in her bedroom with a different appearance. Her father announced he would not be a father to a monster; he left, and she never saw nor spoke with him again.
Her mother slowly came around to the idea, and their mother-daughter relationship recovered, and was perhaps even stronger than before. They agreed she would maintain her basic Klingon appearance in public, to avoid trouble, but then Chall was free to do as she pleased at home with her mother. She became quite skilled at quickly shifting as she practiced more and more. Her collection of ocular prostheses also grew over the years, as her mother was quite a talented artist and hand painted each pair as the need arose.
Over the years, Chall grew more and more depressed over the way her father treated both her and her mother. She would have violent outbursts at times, and would be nearly despondent afterwards for a while. Her mother became worried, and reached out to an old friend, a retired Starfleet officer.
Having a mentor made a world of difference for Chall. The regular practice of mok'bara helped her gain control of her anger, and empty her mind of resentment, even if only temporarily. She found great strength in the movements, and began to trust herself again. She demonstrated a real gift for the art, and soon became extremely capable with both the bat'leth and the mek'leth. She felt a warrior rising up inside her each time her fingers touched the smooth metal blades.
With the help of her mentor, she finally decided that it was time to stand up, shed any fears she had about her true nature, and prove who she was once and for all. She was no monster. She was no thief, no smuggling criminal. She was Chall Drallach, Chameloid, honorable warrior, and she had something to offer the world.
It wasn't easy to be accepted into Starfleet. She was the first Chameloid on record as having been accepted, and many doubted both her integrity and her ability to follow orders. She was pleasantly surprised that Starfleet allowed her to use her shape shifting abilities to express herself, even while on duty, as long as she wore her combadge. She decided that for many she would meet in Starfleet, it would be easier to accept her in Terran form, rather than in the Klingon form she had maintained for most of her life. She felt most comfortable maintaining her basic Terran form around new acquaintances, choosing to exercise her shape shifting skills more extensively when alone or just around close friends.
Chall clearly has a lot to prove, both to herself, and everyone around her. There is only one thing she is sure of, she will make this work. She will make herself, and her mother, proud. She just hopes she is ready. She knows she is damn sure ready to try.

Having developed an early interest in Engineering and mechanics, she entered the Academy with clear direction and purpose, and performed well in all Operations-division courses, graduating no lower than the 80th percentile among her class. Among these, her best performance was in Warp Theory, where she graduated in the 98th percentile. Ms. sh'Tolar's performance in other courses was adaquate. She scored well in Tactical and Flight Control courses, though Medical and Biology were here weakest subjects, as she found them 'gross,' according to Professor Cae. Despite this, all of Ms. sh'Tolar's professors remarked positively on her behavior and temperament, as she showed consistent professionalism and dedication to her coursework. Her counselor, Professor Canavale, credited this to her upbringing in a well-structured home with well-adjusted caretakers. The Professor noted that Ms. sh'Tolar's time at the Academy was 'almost abnormally healthy,' as she was 'social, but not too social,' and 'committed, but not too committed' to her studies. Ms. sh'Tolar has no incident reports on file regarding her time at the Academy. Career Summarysh'Tolar was assigned to the USS Bremen at the rank of Ensign, where she performed well. However, an incident with a being known as 'Sylvia' deeply affected the young officer. In an effort to save the ship, Sylvia [REDACTED], which caused a great deal of guilt for the Ensign. Due to overstaffing, and after being promoted to Lieutenant (Junior Grade), Ms. sh'Tolar was transferred to the USS Sentinel, eventually getting promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and getting assigned as Chief Engineering Officer. Again, she proved to be a consistent and capable officer, with very few incidents or complaints from subbordinates. After the Sentinel was decommissioned, Lieutenant sh'Tolar transferred to Utopia Planitia on Mars, where she worked on low-level design and production for future starships. The Lieutenant applied for and was provisionally approved to be assigned to the upcoming USS Octavia Butler, one of the initial run of the new Concord-class cruisers, but an emergency situation surrounding the renovation of Starbase 11 saw her assignment changed. Personnel File: t'Kaveth-Colvem, Sarissa
Name: Sarissa t'Kaveth-Colvem Species: Romulan/Betazoid hybrid Gender: Female Age: 36 Federation Standard years Birthplace: Shi'Kahr, Vulcan Height: 174 cm Weight: 107 kg Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Black
Rank: Lieutenant
Service Record:
-Assigned to USS Sentinel as ensign, medical officer -Promoted to Lieutenant j.g. and Chief Medical Officer -Promoted to Lieutenant -Assigned to Starfleet Medical -Assigned to extended detached assignment via Starfleet Medical -Assigned to Starbase 11 Medical Staff
Physical Description:
Sarissa has the black eyes of the Betazoids and the pronounced forehead and pointed ears of the Romulans, along with green blood. She has long straight black hair and slightly darker skin than the norm. She normally wears her hair in a formal bun to keep it out of her way and has been known to wear it in a ponytail if rushed.
She normally wears her uniform on duty, but sometimes wears an approved dress if she wants to feel less constricted.
Like many half-Betazoids, she is an empath, but to a slightly lesser extent due to her Romulan heritage. She can detect particularly strong emotions, but not underlying emotions that have been buried deep.
Off-duty, Sarissa can be seen in a variety of clothes, many of which include dresses and skirts. She tries not to wear pants off-duty because she feels they're too constricting.
Family & Personal History:
Sarissa's parents, Lareia Colvem and Havein tr'Kaveth, had one other child besides her. She is very protective of her younger brother, Elien. He was born partially deaf and wear visible hearing aids due to his young age, and is consequently bullied by some fellow students.
Lareia and Havein moved from their previous jobs in the diplomatic services of their respective governments to Vulcan, where Lareia found a job as a foreign diplomacy professor at the Vulcan Science Academy and Havein became an unofficial ambassador to the Unification movement on Romulus before Sarissa was born.
Sarissa and Elien were raised in Shi'Kahr and Elien wasn't even born yet when Romulus and Remus were destroyed. After the destruction, Havein and Lareia left for a short time to help with the refugees and returned with Elien, a Romulan baby who's parents died on the cargo ship they were fleeing in. Sarissa was hesitant of accepting him at first but eventually welcomed him with open arms.
She began attending the VSA to recieve her degree in psychology at 23, but after a year chose to transfer to Starfleet Academy to finish her degree.
Educational History:
After transferring to Starfleet Academy, Sarissa started taking a full course load and almost failed her first year there and would have if one of her professors hadn't coached her through her engineering and science classes.
She did the best in her psychology and medical courses, along with her piloting classes. However, she did poorly at tactical, command, engineering, and science courses. While she is a poor command officer, she wasn't afraid to take charge in her tests and gently remind classmates of the purpose of the assignment.
Medical History:
Her medical file is relatively standardized for a hybrid of her nature, but that very same nature has also given her the inability to have children.

Rank and Position
==============
Cadet
Engineering Officer
Xenotechnoarchaeologist - Study of ancient alien technology
Background Information
==================
Birthplace:
Riviera
Family:
Triia never knew her father. Raised by her single mother and the rest of the artist commune. In fact is was a bit hard to tell who was parent and child as the entire 'clan' jointly cared for everyone. The rebelious streak in her manifested itself in not valuing the 'clan' as family, which was hard for other Catians in the commune to understand. Her behavior and ultimate departure from Riviera caused a lot of concerned talk and upset many. They saw it as being disloyal to the 'clan', but Triia felt like it was the only way to be true to herself.
Childhood:
Triia grew up in an artist commune. While she appreciated the beauty in the works created by her 'clan', she was far too excited about ancient alien technology to do much more than dabble in art herself. Unsatisfied with just her homeschooling, she spent most of her days in the local university's library with both professors and students tolerating the quiet studies of a much-too-young student. Most just considered her an oddity, though some of the harsher students took to calling her the Library's Cat. Not only were her studies a point of mockery, but her small size was always commented on, leading her to despise the word "cute", pats on the head and other behavior that one would perform only on small children. She has a very short temper for such things and got into plenty of fights in her youth without regard to the size or fighting prowess of her adversary.
Why did you join the Academy?
As she got older she always rebuffed the advances of the university students, because most of them studied in arts and entertainment and stayed local to support the town. But she had a weakness for Starfleet officers visiting on shore leave. After one of many day-to-week flings with such a shore-leaver, the idea popped into her head that she should enlist. It would mean actually seeing ancient technology up close and not just reading about it in what was starting to feel like a very small collection at the university.
Career Goal:
Discover a never-before-known ancient civilization with amazing technology!
Life Goal:
Have fun along the way to the career goal!
Satisfied with Life?
YES!!!!! (Maybe a little naively enthusiastic.)
Who did you learn from the most?
The librarian at the university on Riviera.
What stands out most about you?
Small size. Always bouncing with nervous energy.
How do you react to stress?
Riviera was pretty idyllic and bullying was the biggest threat to Triia in her life, so her stress management is not good at all. She'll tend to freeze, cower or back into a corner when confronted with real stress. She's ready to fight over simple interpersonal conflict though.
Do you have close friends?
No, Triia left all that behind and didn't succeed at making friends at the Academy. Too busy studying and reading.
Romantic involvement?
No time. Also Triaa got very disillusioned that her experience with day-to-week long flings with shore-leavers didn't translate to the experience of dating at the Academy.
What do you think about Section 31?
Section what now? That's politics and there's no time for that when there's more xenotechnoarchaeology to be done.
What do you want your legacy to be?
To name an important piece of technology for a never-before-known civilization after herself.
Educational History
===============
Dual Major: Exoarchaeology and Engineering
12105.25
Grades or Distinctions: None. Triia was far too busy learning to excel at academics and barely scratched by in meeting official requirements for her two degrees.
Medical History
============ Nothing significant. Limited immune system from isolated childhood with no travel.

Service Record02 April 2391: Entered Starfleet Academy 22 September 2394: Promoted to Ensign for Graduating Starfleet Academy 25 September 2394: Assigned to the USS Yosemite16 November 2396: Promoted to Lieutenant JG 03 June 2398: Promoted to Lieutenant, reassigned to the USS ChironPhysical Description Rike is physically a small woman, standing at a measly 5’3. However, growing up on a farm and doing physical work throughout her life, she posses a strength which is often underestimated. Though she may initially give the appearance of a 'feeble woman', she lives on Spite™ and will take a physical challenge on only to prove someone's expectations wrong. When she was young, Rike had long, blonde hair which turned white as she aged. Upon acceptance to Starfleet, she cut it short to be more 'efficient', though it is now growing out. Off duty, Rike wears light colors, often accompanied with floral patterns. Due to her prior outdoor jobs as a gardener and shop owner, she is used to wearing loose, comfortable outfits, though she knows how to dress up nicely should the situation call for it. Family and Personal HistoryHenrike “Rike” Herschel was born on Earth in Bavaria, Germany to Jerome and Ada Herschel. She lived in a farming community where the primary exports were wheat, barley, and maize. In addition to her father being a farmer, her mother operated a home brewery, which sold small batches of specialty craft beer to the local bar.
Growing up, Rike’s interaction with others was limited to the tiny town nearby, where she would eventually start helping an elderly man maintain his garden. After the man’s eventual death, she expanded it to a community vegetable and herb garden to benefit the community and allow for hands-on learning. After graduating from a Gesamtschule at 18, Rike bid her parents a farewell and a promise to visit before leaving Earth to travel. She traveled from planet to planet aboard numerous transport ships until she was 23. Rike lived a very minimalist lifestyle during this period, carrying no more than what can fit in a single suitcase and backpack. She often traded gardening, cleaning, and tutoring lessons for food and a place to sleep. Rike placed her worth on the skills and knowledge she possessed and what she could offer to others, not what she physically owned. It wasn’t until Tulgana IV that she decided to settle after being amazed at the planet’s multiculturalism. Outside the main city that hosted the Federation Embassy, Rike started both a flower and vegetable garden. It was at an open market that she sold the products of both gardens. Rike also occasionally sold baked goods created with family recipes, such as butterplätzchen. Due to the embassy, open market, and “ethnic” districts, starships would often stop by the planet for a short break, which allowed Rike to interact with a diverse range of people. During her time on Tulgana IV, Rike listened to Starfleet personnel’s stories, fascinated by the experiences that sparked fernweh, a deep desire, an ache to travel, a goading restlessness. It had been almost 30 years since she last went to school, but Rike was curious how people entered Starfleet nonetheless. She casually asked Starfleet personnel regarding the process, and a few even offered to help her with material that could potentially on the entrance tests. It took three years of studying for the entrance exam, particularly the hyperspace physics test, but she passed each component and was accepted at 50. Academic HistoryRike put all her time and effort into studying and keeping up with the much younger cadets while at Starfleet Academy. She excelled in biology, and reading and writing-based classes such as history; on the other hand, she did not do well in math-heavy courses such as physics. Rike also participated in the chess club and volunteered as a student mental health liaison. She graduated from Starfleet Academy at age 54, specializing in botany and agricultural science. Service HistoryAfter being promoted from Cadet to Ensign, Rike was assigned to a science vessel, the USS Yosemite, as one of five science officers on board. After a year of service, she was promoted to Lieutenant, Junior Grade. While serving on the USS Yosemite, Rike wrote a number of peer reviewed research articles on plant life on planets of differing atmospheres. Her eventual discovery of microbial life on a methane-based moon (which she had nicknamed Schatzmond) earned her her promotion to full Lieutenant. After her promotion, Rike was reassigned to the USS Chiron. MEDICAL NOTES: Copper-based blood; healed plasma burns on left half of body; no known allergies or sensitivities. PRIOR INJURIES: Several cases of athletic sprains; one broken ankle; large plasma burns. T’Saiderei-Xie is in prime physical condition. Their scarring, while obvious, has had no major effect on their athletic capabilities; it was likely treated soon enough after its occurrence to forestall non-superficial damage. BACKGROUND & EDUCATIONAL HISTORY — > Ihho t’Saiderei-Xie (b. Xie Yixiu) was born on April 9th, 2377, to parents Rhai’hlan t’Saiderei and Xie Jian in the Sengkang district of Singapore. Xie Jian works as a civilian pilot at the local spaceport; Rhai'hlan t'Saiderei is not employed, takes courses at a local university, and was primarily responsible for homeschooling t'Saiderei-Xie. They prefer not to discuss their early education, but have mentioned on occasion that they felt like an outsider as the only Romulan student at their primary school. Their choice to not complete secondary school was partially influenced by their peers, as well as a disciplinary incident in their second year at the institution in which t’Saiderei-Xie struck a fellow student. T'Saiderei-Xie applied to Starfleet Academy in 2395 after completing the Starfleet Academy Preparatory Program and was accepted that year. Over the six weeks of the SAP Program, the Academy's admissions office debated whether or not they—as the child of a non-Federation citizen—should need the sponsorship of an officer to pursue admissions. In the end, the point was moot, as a ranking Starfleet officer (who has asked that their name not be shared in this file) declared that they would sponsor t'Saiderei-Xie's Academy bid if it was required, after arguing that such a requirement would be both xenophobic and idiotic. T'Saiderei-Xie, like all candidates, was required to take the "psych test" as part of their entrance exam; they have never disclosed what, exactly, they faced during this test. T’Saiderei-Xie displayed aptitude in almost every academic subject in which they were assessed. Their only notably weak fields were the life sciences, and they demonstrated no interest in history or civics; otherwise, they showed a high degree of competence in the physical sciences and maths. Upon entering Starfleet Academy, t'Saiderei-Xie chose to pursue a science-track career, undertaking a double major in general philosophy and quantum physics (their contributions to the Academy Weekly’s opinion column argue that the two are closely related fields). Their professors have described them as dedicated in the extreme, though several have noted a tendency to dispute classmates’ interpretations and on rare occasions the professors themselves, all with utmost politeness. T'Saiderei-Xie and two other cadets—Cadet Stiles and Cadet Georges—have traded the top ranking in their quantum physics class between the three of them over the course of their time at the Academy, and t'Saiderei-Xie also has a strong claim to the top ranking in their philosophy classes. They apply rigor to classes outside their fields of interest as well, but not to the same extent, and are content when peers with more passion for those courses hold the top rankings. At the same time, they volunteer for peer tutoring, and student reviews have described t'Saiderei-Xie as a remarkably competent tutor. However, other cadets have professed a strong disliking towards t'Saiderei-Xie, even accusing them of being a hyperrealistic android or hologram. Due to their issues with connecting to fellow cadets, a counselor was assigned to assist t'Saiderei-Xie with developing their social skills and to encourage them to seek out relationships with their peers. At first, it was considered likely that Academy authorities would have to ensure t'Saiderei-Xie and Cadet Stiles did not share a class, given the Stiles family's generational dislike for the Romulan people. However, such concerns were assuaged by the fact that the two cadets became good friends during their orientation, and have elected to room with each other every year since. Professor Williams—who teaches, among other fields, quantum physics—has commented her extreme gratitude for the friendship, adding that, if the "two greatest students [she'd] ever had the honor of teaching quantum physics never got along, it would be a damn shame and a blow to the field." T'Saiderei-Xie and Stiles would often pair up for exams and classes that required partners, including their navigation, hand-to-hand combat, and First Contact courses. During a training cruise, t’Saiderei-Xie sustained severe plasma burns while trying to keep Cadet Stiles clear of a rupturing plasma conduit without the proper safety gear. After they ensured Stiles was safe, t'Saiderei-Xie rendered basic repairs to the plasma conduit, even though they were not an engineer. In the aftermath of the incident, during a lengthy stay in the Academy's medical wing, t'Saiderei-Xie discussed their reasoning: as a half-Romulan, they had more tolerance for the injury than a pure human like Stiles would; given that they had the degree of basic training necessary to enact quick repairs, it made more sense for them to do so immediately than to risk taking the time to summon an engineer. (Their claims of purely logical reasoning were slightly belied by their unwillingness to let go of Stiles' hand when asked by anyone other than the cadet herself). They were issued a commendation for taking quick action to protect a fellow cadet and a reprimand for making a rash decision that could have had far worse consequences to their health, as well as acting outside of their division without informing a superior officer. Outside of academia, t’Saiderei-Xie played baseball in their regional league and was on the team representing Singapore when it won the 2390 and 2392 Youth World Series. This continued after they were admitted into Starfleet Academy, and they currently play shortstop for the Academy’s team. They have received attention from around the Federation in this capacity, as their fast reflexes and daring play—including barehanded catches and dives into base—are eye-catching and have impressed many fans. Members of the Academy team speak highly of t’Saiderei-Xie, due both to their skill on the field and their attitude during training and games. According to most of the few people familiar with them, baseball games are among the only places where t’Saiderei-Xie can be found openly happy, whether as a fan in the crowd or a player. They founded the Campus Cats Club at Starfleet Academy, which dedicated itself to ensuring that all stray cats in and around the Academy were up-to-date on their vaccinations, had a safe place to sleep, and never went hungry. They were also a member of the Academy's HEMA Club, Swordfleet. Upon entering the Academy, t’Saiderei-Xie requested an official name change in Starfleet records. For this reason, they are listed as Ihho t’Saiderei-Xie in all Starfleet data, and Xie Yixiu in all civilian archives; their pre-Starfleet educational and disciplinary history can be found in detail under their birth name. T'Saiderei-Xie is fluent in English, Federation Standard, and Mandarin Chinese and conversational in Rihan and Malay. STARFLEET ACADEMY RECORD — >

CUMULATIVE AVERAGE: 3.8 T'Saiderei-Xie earned laboratory research credits by assisting Professor Williams with her investigation of stable and unstable interfold layers. Professor Vanek advised t'Saiderei-Xie during their independent linguistics studies. PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE — > Ihho t’Saiderei-Xie is an extremely driven individual with strong opinions on right and wrong and a tendency for taking risks. They have a deeply ingrained sense of personal honor and have on numerous occasions stated that they don’t believe in fighting dirty. Due to their moral convictions, t'Saiderei-Xie has reported fellow cadets for violating the Academy's honor code, even if those cadets had been observed to be friendly with t'Saiderei-Xie or even offered them bribes to look the other way. At the same time, t'Saiderei-Xie holds themself to the standards they apply to others; Professors Song and Williams both recall instances where t'Saiderei-Xie informed them that they could potentially find a way to cheat in an exam scenario and advised them on how to remove that possibility. A similar conviction lies behind their earliest recorded disciplinary incident, which resulted in their family choosing to pull them out of secondary school. When asked, t'Saiderei-Xie explained that they had witnessed one student break a promise to another, and that they understood such actions had to have consequences. As such, they struck the student who broke the promise. (Their mother, Rhai'hlan t'Saiderei, corroborated the story at the Academy's request, and added that she was thankful at the time that the incident occurred the day before she planned to give t'Saiderei-Xie their first knife.) It is inaccurate to say that t'Saiderei-Xie has a short temper. They have never been reported to shout or snap at anyone, whether peer or superior, out of anger. In instances when they have made immediate—and perhaps rash—decisions, their explanations have always been rooted in logic, not emotion (save when those decisions involve Cadet Stiles, perhaps). However, their idea of proportionate retribution is not always proportionate, which has led to some concern from faculty at the Academy. This is likely a result of their unique background and upbringing; they were homeschooled by their mother for more than 5 years, and Romulan culture does hold similar values. The possibility also stands that their temper is as short as it seems, and they simply excel at inventing rationales for their choices after the fact; however, the counseling staff finds such a possibility unlikely. Thus far, t'Saiderei-Xie has not shown much skill in either making friends or humoring acquaintances. The counselor assigned to them, Dr. Se'ten, is of the opinion that their lack of social skill is due to the fact that t'Saiderei-Xie does not particularly want to bond with others, though he believes they will find it necessary to preserve their emotional wellbeing. Additionally, they have failed to delegate tasks effectively in training simulations more than once, demonstrating an unwillingness to rely on others' capabilities. These traits are likely to lead to either a distinguished career or a disaster, and t’Saiderei-Xie is still uncertain enough that, without careful development, their career could go either way. For this reason, as their time in the Academy draws to a close, we recommend that t'Saiderei-Xie's first assignment be under an experienced commander who could set a good example for them. [CLASSIFIED] ADDITIONAL INFORMATION — > Rhai'hlan t'Saiderei came to the Federation seeking asylum in 2375 and described herself as a former Tal Shiar agent who no longer wanted to serve a corrupt and power-hungry organization. Given that "Rhai'hlan t'Saiderei" has been determined to be a recent alias, not a name she used while a citizen of the Romulan Star Empire, it has proved very difficult to find any definite confirmation or refutation of her claims. Due to her proclaimed background, it was deemed most sensible to assign a Starfleet Intelligence agent to keep an eye on her and ensure that she was genuine about her desire to defect and did not feed information to the Tal Shiar or any other foreign intelligence agency. The agent assigned to her, however—a Lt. Xie Jian—developed a relationship with her and the two eventually married, Lt. Xie retiring from active service in Starfleet Intelligence as it became clear his decision-making regarding Ms. t'Saiderei had become compromised. Their child is entirely unaware of their backgrounds. < — STARFLEET RECORDS — Personnel File — T’SAIDEREI-XIE, Ihho — >
